Military Family Resources

The Purple Star Award is awarded to military-friendly schools and recognizes schools, like ours, that show a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military. We proudly display our Purple Star recognition and are honored to have this award.

Arts IMPACT Middle school values the many families that live in our community with ties to the military. Our middle school is located on the campus of former military post -- Fort Hayes. The fort was created on July 11, 1862, and was known as the Columbus Arsenal until 1922, when it was renamed after former Ohio Governor and later 19th U.S. President Rutherford B. Hayes

As a district, we understand that military youth go through unique circumstances and situations and we want every military family to know we are here to help. This webpage is designed to provide you with easy access links to helpful resources. In addition, the staff in our schools have experience in assisting military youth and their families, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to your school counselor for additional assistance.

Our school celebrates military families and military history:

  • Veterans Appreciation Night at athletic events
  • Veterans Day events held throughout the District
